The Mobile I/O Box is an all-in-one solution that enables increased capabilities for Omron mobile systems.  The easy and intuitive interface allows users to manually call AMRs to set locations while also providing call status (including distance to goal) so users know when an AMR will arrive.

The Mobile I/O Box also features digital inputs and outputs that enable monitoring and operation of automatic doors, signal lights or other external devices by the mobile system. Just like AMRs, setup and operation is done natively through Mobile Planner, resulting in a seamless integration into an Omron mobile robot system.

MIOB Calling LD

Calling all AMRs!

Omron’s portfolio of autonomous mobile robots and accessories provides a powerful yet versatile means to autonomously transport materials, however sometimes there is a need to manually call an AMR to a location.  The Mobile I/O Box enables users to call an AMR to a specific location with a simple touch of a button without the need to interface with a production or fulfilment system.  The intuitive display will also inform you on the status of your request, so you know exactly when a robot is enroute and how far it is from arrival.

Key Benefits:

  • Provides an easy way to manually summon a robot without the need for additional MES/ERP system configuration
  • Adds additional process flexibility to automated material movement processes
  • Wireless connectivity allows for the flexibility to locate the unit anywhere in a facility

MIOB Activating Devices

The Signals for Success

The Mobile I/O Box (as the name suggests) can send and receive signals that allow the Omron mobile robot system to determine the status of external devices as well as activate their functions.  This provides an increased level of capability not only for interaction with devices but can also improve utility of the overall AMR system.  Additionally, the mobile I/O Box can be used to manually check and set signals for connected devices to aid in troubleshooting activities.

Key Benefits:

  • Enables the AMR system to interact with external devices to achieve more advanced processes
  • Easy way to connect external devices to the mobile robot system without the need of a complex automation system
  • Operation of devices integrated into native mobile software platform
